CS262 Lecture 14 – Gene Recognition
نویسنده
چکیده
In this lecture we discuss gene recognition, i.e., given a sequence of DNA, how can we find the regions in this sequence that encode genes? Gene recognition is at the heart of computational genomics, because simply knowing the base sequence does not reveal anything about the functionality of the DNA. The proteins that an organism can produce are encoded in the base sequence as genes, and we will discuss various approaches to identifying these important regions of the genome.

Speech recognition performance of CJLC: corpus of Japanese lecture contents
This paper discusses the speech recognition of Japanese classroom lecture speech. In particular, we mention the influences of microphone differences and the language model differences on the speech recognition performance of classroom lectures. First, we collected actual classroom lecture contents from several universities in Japan. In this paper, we recorded the lecture speech using lapel micr...

Lecture 13 examined selection response with multiple traits. Here we consider measuring selection on multivariate phenotypes in some detail, as this is a very popular exercise in modern evolutionary biology. Moving to multiple traits poses no changes in measuring fitnesses of individuals (Lecture 12), but does require us to provide the multivariate versions of the univariate differentials S and...
متن کاملA cross-media retrieval system for lecture videos
We propose a cross-media lecture-on-demand system, in which users can selectively view specific segments of lecture videos by submitting text queries. Users can easily formulate queries by using the textbook associated with a target lecture, even if they cannot come up with effective keywords. Our system extracts the audio track from a target lecture video, generates a transcription by large vo...
متن کاملA System for On-demand Video Lectures
We propose a lecture-on-demand system, which searches lecture videos for segments relevant to user information needs. We utilize the benefits of textbooks and audio/video data corresponding to a single lecture. Our system extracts the audio track from a target lecture video, generates a transcription by large vocabulary continuous speech recognition, and produces a textual index. Users can sele...
